This basically illustrates the effort that has gone into controlling non labor expenses. Despite the addition of topdressing programs, tree care, and landscape programs to the budget and rising fuel costs, we have still been able to cut this budget from where it was when we started. Much of that savings has been shifted to the labor side of the budget to help facilitate projects, repairs (everything from drainage and irrigation to stonewalls and cart paths), and expanded cultural practices (topdressing, overseeding, and aeration). A quick calculation using these savings versus the projected cost increases we have saved the club close to $600,000 over the past six years.
