Seventh Hole Drainage
January of 2007
This area in front of seven fairway has been bothering us for a while, but it was hard to believe that there would be drainage that worked in such a low area.
It started with one hole, not easy to work in at all.
Once we pumped it out, we could see the problem: willow tree roots. In the hole right next to Tim's right hand you can barely make out the remnants of a pipe chock full of roots.
This picture shows the amount of digging across the line...every 50 feet or so.
Another view. This also illustrates that the holes are filled with water anymore, so we are making progress.
All the way the the right of the golf hole we have a running pipe. This pipe will not solve all of seven's problems, but it will stop contributing to them. Now at least during the summer we should be able to mow closer to the tee.
