The picture below tells a good story about  the drainage in the 6th fairway...the pipes are not even connected.  The grate, as many of have seen, is just laying on top, not attached, and would very easily pop off.

 

 

We installed real drainage basins and the area seems to handle water much better.  The topdressing sand pictured here  will also help.

 

We then moved to the left, by the  7th tee,  where water sat all summer long and killed the turf.  We regraded the area to pitch to the drainline and installed catch basins so that water would not just sit on top of the turf.

 

The catch basins will be cut down flush.  The area functions much better now, and looks great.
