DCPC Audubon Certification and Local Conservation Commission Compliance
Four years ago DCPC's relationship with the Dedham and Westwood Conservation Commissions was poor. What many people don't realize is that Greenkeepers and Conservation Agents can have very similar goals (reduced water use, reduced fertilizers, and reduced chemicals all lead to healthier turf, better playing conditions, and budget savings) , it just has to be illustrated (the Best Management link below).
For compliance we voluntarily had the property flagged for wetland features (we used GPS technology saving $10,000 compared to traditional surveying techniques), became a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, and started testing the waters from our streams and ponds.

DCPC Wildlife Slideshow
Being located in such a natural area we are bound to have a great diversity of wildlife. About twenty years ago and wildlife journal was started at Dedham documenting the wildlife and it has since been lost. We will work to recreate it here.
